FAMILY: Pandanus
USES: Strong tropical effect. Accent, groundcover, in containers, large planters, en masse, near swimming pools, streams, lakes, in courtyards, roof and rock gardens. Accepts coastal winds
SIZE: Grows 50cm tall with a similar spread.
LOCATION: Full sun to partial shade. Enjoys the more humid coastal areas. Does not do so well in the hotter drier interior regions unless beside a water body or in a lawn.
SOIL: Best in a free draining, organically enriched, open sandy soil with a pH 6.6 – 7.8, neutral to mildly alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 10:20:10 NPK with additional P, if so required, annually.
WATER: Moderate to ample water required for best growth. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging.
