USES: Coastal shoreline areas, as a foundation plant, screen, hedge or barrier plant. Sometimes used as a small street tree. Does well as a transitional plant, shrub,
SIZE: Grows 5 – 6m tall with a 4m spread at a rate of 30 – 50 cm p/a.
LOCATION: Full sun. Does well in humid coastal areas. Not so good in the hotter, dry desert locations.
SOIL: Best in an organically enriched free draining fertile soil with a pH 6.6 – 8.5, neutral to alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 20:10:5 NPK with trace elements annually in early spring.
WATER: Apply water deeply once or twice a week, reducing in winter. Ample water gives fastest growth.
