‘Variegated Flax Lily’
FAMILY: Dianella
USES: Strong leaf colour, tropical effect. Does well as a border, edging plant, in containers, groundcover, around pools, courtyards and under canopied trees.
SIZE: Grows 0.3 – 1.0m tall with a 0.3-0.5m spread.
LOCATION: Full sun to light partial shade. Does well in coastal areas and interior regions with some protection from direct hot dry desert winds.
SOIL: Prefers an organically enriched fertile soil with a pH 6.1 – 7.5, mildly acidic to neutral.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 14:14:14 NPK in spring and autumn.
WATER: Keep soil moist. Moderately drought tolerant for short periods only. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging.
