Pelargonium zonale ( Geranium Mix )

'Geranium'

FAMILY: Pelargonium

USES: Used for its seasonal flower display. Does well as a bedding or edging plant alongside a path. Also very often used as a container plant, in pots, hanging baskets, window boxes and in courtyards.

SIZE: Grows to 60cm tall with an equal spread. Fast growing.

LOCATION: Full sun to light partial shade. Prefer a slightly humid location. Does well with some protection from direct sea wind or hot, dry desert wind which may cause leaf burn.

SOIL: Best in an organically enriched free draining fertile soil with a pH 5.6 – 7.8, acidic to mildly alkaline.

FERTILISER: Apply a liquid 9:2:6 NPK with trace elements every two months as soon as the flower buds appear. Watch out for Mg and Fe nutrient deficiency if soil is too alkaline.

WATER: Keep soil moist but avoid waterlogging which will quickly lead to rot.
