USES: Moderately bushy, evergreen shrub or shrubby perennial bearing triangular-ovate to elliptic, softly hairy or hairless, mid- to deep green leaves, 1.5-4cm long, with rounded teeth. From late summer to autumn, paired or whorled, deep crimson or, less commonly, magenta, pink, or purple flowers, 2.5cm long, are produced in terminal racemes.
