‘Tecoma’
FAMILY: Tecoma
USES: Tropical effect through its flowers which occur over an extended period. Does well as an accent, hedge, background, screen or foundation plant.
SIZE: Grows 3m tall with an equal spread at a rate of 1.2 – 1.5m p/a.
LOCATION: Full sun to light partial shade. Does well in humid coastal areas and marginal desert areas. Not so good in the drier regions or in heavy winds.
SOIL: Best in an organically enriched free draining fertile soil with a pH 6.1 – 7.8, mildly acidic to mildly alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 13:13:13NPK after pruning to encourage flowering which appears on new growth.
WATER: Keep soil moist. Moderate to ample water required. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging which will lead to yellowing of the leave
