FAMILY: Thevetia
USES: Tropical effect through its flowers which occur over an extended period. Does well as an accent, hedge, background, screen or foundation plant.
SIZE: Grows 3m tall with an equal spread at a rate of 1.2 – 1.5m p/a.
LOCATION: Full sun and reflected heat to partial shade. Does well in humid coastal areas, with some protection from sea winds, and desert areas.
SOIL: Best in an organically enriched free draining fertile soil with a pH 6.6 – 7.8, neutral to mildly alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 13:13:13NPK annually in spring. Watch out for Fe and N deficiency.
WATER: Keep soil moist for best growth. Moderate to ample water required. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging which will lead to yellowing of the leave
