FAMILY: Yucca
USES: An architectural focal point, an accent, border, barrier, pot or container plant, en masse, in rock gardens and coastal shoreline areas.
SIZE: Grows 3 – 4m tall with a 1-1.5m spread at a rate of 15-30cm p/a.
LOCATION: Full sun and reflected heat to partial shade. Does well in both coastal and interior regions.
SOIL: Best in an open free draining sandy soil with a pH 6.1 – 8.5, mildly acidic to alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 14:14:14 NPK in spring. Do not over fertilise.
WATER: Very drought tolerant. Allow soil to dry out between water applications. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging.
