‘Baby Sun Rose’
FAMILY: Aptenia
USES: Flower display and as a border plant or soil stabiliser. Does well in hanging baskets, window boxes, in containers, as a ground cover, around pools, courtyards on terraces and as a trailing plant.
SIZE: Grows to 20cm tall with a 60cm spread.
LOCATION: Full sun and reflected heat. Best in the more humid areas but does well just about everywhere.
SOIL: Prefers an organically enriched free draining fertile soil with a pH 7.9 – 8.5, alkaline.
FERTILISER: Apply a slow release 10:20:10 NPK every four months. Use a 9:2:6 NPK every two months to increase flowering once flower buds appear.
WATER: Keep soil moist. Moderately drought tolerant for very short periods only. Does not accept over irrigation or waterlogging.
